We held an open interactive session with 20 prospective members and community stakeholders to explore design approaches for a short list of potential sites in Owen Sound. From the community, we had representation from Georgian College students, a professional architect, Saugeen First Nation, and participants ranging in age from 17-71. Our learnings from that session will guide our site selection process and challenge Glassworks to weigh its priorities. Many priorities were considered essential, such as universal accessibility with local transportation, walkability/bike ability, proximity to the College and a natural buffer from potential or existent neighbouring developments. Zero House Tour

Kim Harris was kind enough to give us a tour of her recently build zero house in Thornbury, conceived and constructed by Chris Hagwood of the Endeavor Sustainable Building School in Peterborough. This unique prefab strawbale home was built with zero construction waste, zero toxic off gassing, and net zero energy consumption without surpassing conventional construction costs. #millennialarchitects #architectschoolhires #hiringrecentgraduates
