Guest Speaker, Peter Cameron

Did you know that education and process are central to the co-operative model?

With that in mind, and to help us form our governance strategy, Peter Cameron, Acting Executive Director of the Ontario Co-operative Association, will guide us on how to realize our vision of a resilient eco-village, while ensuring accountability and transparency.

Peter brings a wealth of experience in the co-op sector, and provides technical assistance and identifies funding opportunities to expand co-operative development activities across the province.

Co-operatives have always been Peter's passion. He was on the founding boards of Silverwood Housing Co-operative, Guelph Food Co-operative, Guelph Co-op Council and Sumac Community Worker Co-operative (Planet Bean Coffee). He was a Co-op Business Developer and Executive Director of the Ontario Worker Co-op Federation between 1993 and 2002.

Peter is a graduate of the Co-operative Management Certificate Program sponsored by OCA and the Schulich School of Business, and graduated from McMaster University with a Hons BSc. He was the recipient of the "Outstanding Contribution to OCA Award" in 2004 and the CWCF Worker "Co-op Merit Award" in 2005.

So join us August 7 to learn and network - bring your questions!
